With H just about "qualified" we chose Voss some 100 kms away to head towards (the same place we'd cycled through a few days back) so programmed the GPS and let H loose on the unsuspecting Norwegians !
We did well to cause plenty of traffic chaos along the way with Norways narrow roads and low speed limits helping us to rack up a few tailbacks of 20 + cars behind us !
Throw in about 15 tunnels ranging from 100 metres to 3 kms and you had the ingredients for one slow 100 km drive.
As scenic as it was traipsing alongside one of Norway's beautiful fjords it was also exasperating as there was no where to pull over !
Gripe no. 2 came in Voss which not only had most shops closed but also had no public toilets !
Out final issue though came on our return when we couldn't find a damned thing open other than a servo that served food !
In an act of desperation we parked near a servo and asked amazingly a guy with an Australian wife for an eatery who pointed us to Maccas some 10 mins away !
As we thought Maccas was packed on a Sunday with nothing else open - but we held our line eating enough to remember why you only go to McDonalds as a last resort !
Still recovering from a Maccas hangover today we did our bike box run visiting the nearest bike shop to grab a couple of cardboard boxes then going back to our apartment to check that both bikes fit.
The good news was both did the bad news was that they did only by having both seats forward meaning that we look like Noddy & Big Ears driving in a toy car !
With the weather on the improve we took a nearby forest walk with beautiful distant views of Bergen which we say goodbye to tomorrow as head further Nth in Norway to a place near Stryn
P.s. Just when you thought H's latent dementia was on the improve ... suffering a pretty savage headache late today he has just realized that his headache and asthma medication is sitting inside one pretty well packed bike box !!!!
