Day 54 - Finse Rest Day - " The Empire Strikes Back" !

After 3 tiring but rewarding days it was a joy to lie in with the comforting sound of nearby running streams (unless you had a weak bladder) and the knowledge that today's most strenuous exercise was to be getting back down the same hill we climbed late yesterday !

With our camping style breakfast out of the way we clambered back down the hill each carrying a water container as our cabin has no running water !

Dropping off the containers for our return we took to walking towards the huge glacial national park that overlooks Finse and was not surprisingly the setting for the Ice Planet in the Empire Strikes Back !

With the sun beginning to appear both the lake and the surrounding snow began to sparkle making Finse 12c temperatures appear almost idyllic !

A few thousand photos later we returned to our cabin first stocking up on Pizza and Reindeer Lasagne (D Mike went for the packet soup option back at the Cabin !).

Despite the mild conditions outside H insisted on keeping the fire going soon requiring us to open all the windows and walk around with minimal clothing on - thx H !

Tomorrow we jump back on to the Rallervergen but with heavy unseasonal snow having fallen it looks like a section of the trail is unrideable requiring us to train it for a short distance !
