Day 61 - Stryn Norway - " A cabin with a view " !

As good plans go it was not the start we wanted with Kev having spent most of the night awake with a pretty severe headache !

So with a late start we packed our gear into the few remaining nooks and crannies of our car and headed Nth

Despite an early directional argument at a roundabout H did well heading out of Bergen soon mixing with the rural traffic heading towards Oppedal where we grabbed a departing ferry over to Lavik.

Our departure from the ferry was a little less than stylish when we were last to leave after H couldn't work out why the car wasn't responding until he realised he hadn't turned it on - these damned silent cars !

With a bike boxes requiring our seats to be pushed forward i couldn't help H with the driving so we resorted to frequent breaks to make up for his lack of sleep.

Some late day road rage did though help the cause - our first incident being when H & self had a blue about how close he'd come to leaving the road - H suggesting I shouldn't scream unless death was almost certain ( interestingly I had the dash board go pro on at the time so we can review to see if i was over reacting !)

The other 2 events involved passing two Norwegian motorists going down a steep hill at 30km as both were intent on taking in superb fjiord views - a note to the Norwegian Govt " Build some bloody observation platforms" !!!

The scenery just got better and better - still snow on the hills despite the warm conditions and shimmering turquoise lakes providing magical backdrop

Finally arriving at Stryn we stocked up with supplies for our cabins then succeeded in peeing off customers when H couldn't remember his credit card pin no.

Now with no debit card and a travel card that only has Euros and pounds H may have to resort to prostituting his slightly 2nd hand body to survive the remaining 2-3 weeks !

Leaving Stryn we took a spectacular climbing 15 km road through a couple of one lane tunnels to our beautifully situated cabin with its amazing panorama !

It was so peaceful, not a sound other than the distant tinkle of cowbells and the closer sounds of H farting as he broke in the cabin rooms !

With a light dinner we sat back and enjoyed the views hoping to take in more of the nearby magical scenery over the next few days !
